Ursula and Rudy August 14th, 2010 at 2:07 AM For once I was lost for words upon arrival at suite 201, which would be our home away from home for the next 26 nights! Wow, was all I could say! Everything was perfect, clean and so well appointed, it felt like home, and we did not want to leave. I can say suite 201 is a perfect 10! So is the service, the welcome basket was lovely. Loved the visitors in the garden, squirrels, skunks and raccoons and lots of birds. The suite was very close to shops and public transit. We could not have wished for more.I will recommend Kitsilanosuites to everyone I know. Thank you so much Mark.
David and Carol Hoult August 6th, 2010 at 3:50 AM I recommend without hesitation suite 102 at Kitsilano Suites. The apartment was beautifully furnished with great attention to detail. The "welcome basket" was a very nice touch and meant we were able to have "a nice cup of tea" as soon as we got there. It is ideally situated in one of the best areas of Vancouver close to shops, resturants, etc. and easy to get to Downtown Vancouver on the frequent buses. Also within easy walking distance to the beach, museums and Granville Island. We loved our stay in Vancouver - it's a beautiful city - and we particularly enjoyed our stay in the Kitsilano Suites. Thanks for everthing.
Victoria Barker August 29th, 2009 at 11:19 AM We stayed in the Kitsilano suites at the end of June 2009, it was the first stop on a very special trip and I wanted it to be perfect and I have to say it really was perfect! We stayed in suite 101 and it was just beautiful, stunningly designed and exceptionally clean. My boyfriend always laments at just how picky I am, but he couldn't have been happier as this place lived up to even my crazily high expectations. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. This really is a fantastic place to stay in a fantastic area of Vancouver. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Doreen & John Ryan May 18th, 2009 at 8:10 AM My husband and I live in Kitsilano ourselves and we discovered Kitsilano Suites in the spring 2007 when looking for a place to stay for my parents who were coming to Vancouver that summer. When we arrived at Kitsilano Suites to have a look we knew: This is it! It is beautiful on the outside but even better on the inside. My parents were to stay in suite 201, which is a spacious one bedroom suite, with a bright living room, a quiet bedroom, a really nice bathroom and an absolute fantastic kitchen which leads out to a huge sunny balcony. All appliances were brand new and the attention to detail is amazing. When my parents finally arrived they could not believe how fabulous the place was. Mark, the owner, had nicely arranged items such as juices, fresh bread, butter, fruit etc to welcome his guests which is just another of the many nice touches this accommodation provides. I could go on an on and on but the essence is: It's a fabulous, super clean place, close to everything such as the beach, parks, restaurants, shops, public transit (which brings you to Downtown Vancouver in 15 to 20 minutes) and much more. And suites 101 and 102 are just as great, just with a different layout - my husband's sister stayed the first week of her stay in September 2007 in 102 and the second week in 101 and both suites are absolutely amazing.
Richard & Angela. April 21st, 2009 at 5:47 PM Thanks for everything! The apartment was wonderful -- you always imagine/worry it won't be as good as it looks on the web, but in fact it's better! Spacious, beautiful, clean and with everything anyone could possibly need to live, all laid our beautifully like a boutique hotel. Amazing location, everything was great and we'll be back. Richard & Angela.
Mel and Adam Godwin October 12th, 2008 at 8:09 PM Very belated comment but it had to be said! We spent the last 2 days of our honeymoon in August 2008 here and what an amazing 2 days it was. Kristine was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our evening chat with her out on the veranda and we learnt so much about Kitsilano, the house and British Columbia itself. It is clear when you stay at Kitsilano suites that Mark has thought of everything and the attention to detail is second to none. Everything is of such a high standard and feels like home from home. We had a fabulous time on Honeymoon in Canada, part of this we owe to Mark and Kristine for looking after us dearly. If ever we find ourselves in Kits again, we would without doubt stay here
Catherine Bryenton September 19th, 2008 at 10:43 PM After moving to Toronto away from beautiful Vancouver, coming back to stay at Kitisilano Suites truly does feel like coming back home. Upon my arrival it was ensured that all of my needs were met. I even needed a printer for my work and Mark actually went and bought one for me to use while I was there so I could work uninterrupted. Kits is one of my favorite areas and Mark's place is right in the very best part, just a few blocks from the organic grocery store, great coffee shops, restaurants and of course, the beach! This is a premier area in Vancouver and Kitsilano Suites is right there. Don't expect to find anything wrong with your stay because you won't. It's spotless - and I mean really spotless, very well equipped, comfortable and clearly built with quality, caring and design in mind. Each suite is very well appointed. I especially liked the claw foot tub. It's obvious from registration to check out that Mark cares about providing the best experience and service possible to his guests. This is 6 star quality and service for a 2 star price. I look forward to coming back home and staying here again. Thanks so much Mark!
Kasia Sell May 26th, 2008 at 2:07 PM Kitsilano Suites has got to be one of the most fabulous places to stay in Vancouver in its price level. I have stayed there twice - first for 4 weeks in February 2008 in suite 102 and then again for 2 weeks in April 2008 in suite 101. Both times, I could not have asked for a better experience. The house is full of charm and character. It is located on a quiet and beautiful tree-lined street in one of the best neighborhoods in Vancouver. It is close to shops, restaurants, cute cafés, organic food stores, yoga studios and best of all - the beach. It is also an easy ride across the bridge to get downtown. The suites manage to combine the feelings of comfort, luxury and being at home. They are fully furnished and include absolutely everything you could possibly need like extra blankets, beach towels, umbrellas, a couple of Vancouver travel guides - even water repellent so that you could spray your shoes if (or when) it gets wet! Mark (the owner) goes out of his way to provide his guests with extraordinary service. He is kind, courteous, helpful and genuinely interested in making his guests feel like they're at home. Honestly, Kitsilano Suites is suberb. I wish every hotel was like this one!
Gil Skinner March 2nd, 2008 at 9:47 PM We stayed in 201 for the month of February. Everything was wonderful. Mark goes out of his way to make sure guests are cared for and they have what they need. Fantastic location.
Peter Band January 3rd, 2008 at 10:49 AM Our Christmas visit to family in Vancouver was made all the more enjoyable by having somewhere as comfortable, private and convenient as 201 Kitsilano Suites, both as a place for us to relax but also somewhere we could entertain the family. It will be our first choice for accomodation the next time we visit.
Linda Kelemen December 8th, 2007 at 1:43 PM It is with great pleasure and without hesitation that I recommend suite 101 at Kitsilano Suites in Vancouver for accommodations during your visit to Vancouver. I reserved the suite from Nov 17 to Dec 1 during my recent stay. I had subletted an apartment in Vancouver's Yaletown in March and, while that was a very positive experience, Kitsilano Suites exceeded all of my expectations and I will likely plan future stays there. The suite has very recently been refurbished, with new and modern appliances in the kitchen, new leather couches and dining table/chairs in the living area, new bedroom furnishings and a wonderful bathroom (much of this detail you can find online). The attention to detail was terrific and pleasantly surprising! The kitchen has all accessories for gourmet dining including a lovely "welcome" basket consisting of juices, fresh bread from the local bakery, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit, a fully-stocked spice rack, sugar, sweeteners, cooking oils, high-quality cookware (Cuisinart) and serviceware (Lagostina). I thought this was all very thoughtful and a treat. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, so much so that I had difficulty getting out of it in the morning! Local telephone charges, cable and wireless internet were all complementary. With the renovations, the suite was brought up to date to meet all building codes (there are sprinklers throughout, adjustable heat guages and new electrical outlets). I never ran out of hot water. In short, the suite delivered the best of both worlds: a very charming, lived-in atmosphere native to a character house its age (with many wonderful original details like stained glass windows and hardwood floors) but with all modern comforts. The neighbourhood is where I think everyone would want to live if they had the opportunity: it's very cozy, beautiful at all times of year but mostly in the spring when the old-age blossom trees bloom) and convenient to all amenities - you won't need a car. During my student days at UBC, I lived only 2 blocks away on West 8th (also between Balsam and Larch Streets) and so, for me, it was like coming back home. Fun (non-touristy) places for me to re-visit were Benny's Bagels at the corner of Broadway and Larch (be sure to ask for their fruit-brie bagel melt - mouthwatering good!) and the Kitsilano recreation center (indoor skating). I was at the beach daily: Kits Beach is 7 blocks away and Jericho Beach (quieter, with a lovely spacious park and 7km walk/bike path) is a little farther west. And, of course, Granville Island (a must if you've never been to Vancouver) is less than a 30 minute walk away. Finally, a few adjectives about Mark Diesvelt: super conscientious, exceptionally nice and a great pleasure to meet. His main concern was that his guests thoroughly enjoy themselves. Once you see his attention to detail, you'll understand. I was never in want of anything at any time, I found Mark to be gracious, courteous, respectful of his guests' privacy and just an all-around great person. My experience was truly outstanding and I will re-book with Mark and Kistilano Suites for my future visits to Vancouver. Linda Kelemen
